2 week dr. appointment: David weighs 9 lbs. 6 oz. Up one full pound from when he was born. He is 21 1/2 inches long. He is in the 75th percentile for both height and weight and the 65th percentile for head size. Dr. Lemont said he looks great! She was an awesome doctor and I know she will do some amazing things in Boston, but we will sure miss having her take care of us!
Visit to Mommy's work: I had to go into work to get a bunch of stuff to use for my research paper I am writing for my class this summer. So, while we were there, we showed David off to my coworkers. Everyone thought he was super cute! Which he is!
Nap Time: We were all pooped after our big morning. David spent most of the afternoon/early evening napping with Dan or me.
First Bottle: Our goal is to breastfeed as long as possible and avoid formula. But, since I will be going back to work eventually and I would love to have a beer on the 4th of July, we decided to try breast milk from a bottle instead of the boob for the first time tonight. Daddy got to do the honors! David and Daddy did great! I had so much fun watching Dan tear up as he fed his son for the first time. As the food source, I get to share that special bond with David, so for Dan to get a chance to do that, was really great!
Sleeping through the night: David slept through the night for the first time last night. When I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and realized that I had never gotten up to feed him, I had a moment of panic and sent Dan into the nursery to see if he was still breathing. As soon as the door creaked open, David woke up and realized it had been 8 hours since he ate last and was ready for some breakfast. I was relieved to know he was just fine and that I had gotten a solid 8 hours of sleep myself! Let's hope this trend continues!
