I love food! Dan and I really changed our eating habits about a year ago and have stopped eating out and started cooking more food from scratch. Not only did we both lose some weight (although the whole getting pregnant thing kinda lost that one for me!) but we both started feeling a lot better! We have tried lots of new recipes and found lots of tasty things we enjoy cooking!
Today's new recipe: Lemon Glaze Angel Food Cake! Dan requested it for his birthday and I gave it a go! The recipe calls for 12 egg whites....well, 9 egg whites in, a rouge yolk decided to burst out of the shell and join the whites. I tried valiantly to scoop out the yolk, but it was broken, so I put the remaining 3 egg whites in and tried anyway. Well, a note to all of you unfamiliar with egg whites, they don't do what you want if there is even the tiniest amount of yolk involved. So, back to the grocery store for another dozen eggs. This time, the egg yolks were on their best behavior and went down the sink drain like they were supposed too! The egg whites peaked nicely and the cake turned out quite delicious!
