Diving into Dieting

So, for the past 3 or 4 weeks, I have been counting calories and have lost 7 lbs!  I slacked off on running on the treadmill so I gained 3 lbs. back.  (Booooo!)  But, I was struggling with the calorie counting because I would try to make a healthy choice, like eating a banana for a snack.  But, that banana cost me around 115 calories.  I could eat three of my Dove caramels for that same calorie cost!  This was frustrating to me.  So, I started chatting with one of my best friends who has lost 50 lbs. on Weight Watchers (She is amazing!).  This plan sounded a little better to me - because I can snack on healthy stuff and it doesn't cost me any points - where as my Dove caramels do!  This makes reaching for those healthy snacks much more motivating.  So, I am going to give Weight Watchers a try and see how things go!  I am also getting back into the habit of running on the treadmill at least 5 days a week.  My goal is to lose 18 lbs. and get myself right in the middle of the healthy weight range for my height.  If that goes well, I may shoot to lose a few more pounds, but I will be taking it one day at a time!  Wish me luck!
