What a day!

My day was totally normal until 2:30 when I headed off to meet one of my new therapy kiddos. For those of you who don't know, my promotion within Wisconsin Early Autism Project is amazing, but requires me to discontinue working with my current kiddos and take on several new kids for the training of my new position! This was just an initial meeting but I am really excited! One major component of autism can be a verbal deficit and so this little one uses sign language and has around 134 signs, not including finger spelling! I love sign language, so I am really excited to learn a bunch of new signs!

Tonight, I had my first symphony choir rehearsal of the season for Holst's Planets, which calls for a double women's choir for the Neptune movement. I was placed in the first soprano section, which is fine with me, but this movement sits really high and the rehearsal was challenging, but I know the subsequent rehearsals will just help me build my high-note muscles and improve my breath control. I am excited for the improvements this will bring to my vocal technique!

Last, I am a bit nervous about tomorrow because I begin my class for my new position at work. I am excited because I really want to learn more about my field of work, but I always get nervous for things like this because I want to do my best and show everyone that they made the right decision! Tomorrow will be a big day!
