I know my last blog was about living in the present but, this blog is going to be about a visit to the past!
I was looking through old computer files and I found the poem I wrote my sophomore year of college when I realized that I truly am an amazing woman and no matter what happens in life, I am loved and I can reach my dreams. Reading this poem several years later is a great reminder that I have a great life and there are great things in store for me! I would like to share this poem because it means so much to me:
Tie an apron 'round my heart
A kerchief 'round my soul
Spring cleaning for my aura
Rebuilding a new whole
Sweep the dust bunnies from my joys
Scrub the lamentations away
Box up lingering memories
Put them on a shelf for a rainy day
Polish my dreams
Display them with pride
With renewed spirit
Smog evaporates from the sky
Mistakes are forgiven
Forgotten and left in the past
Thoughts washed and hung to dry
Realization has come at last
A shining new reflection
An enticing new start
Remove the kerchief from my soul
Untie the apron from my heart

I love that poem. Is it just me, or is this the second time I've heard it? Did you read this one aloud to Elyse and I at my apartment sophomore year? Just wondering. Because I think I remember this beautiful poem. :) I'm so happy for you and all of the love you've found in your life and all of the milestones you've encountered since it was written!
