An Important Conversation

Me: I quit my job today!
You: What?
Me: Yeah, my supervisors and human resources coordinator received my resignation letter today.
You: Wow! Why did you quit your job? I thought you liked your job!
Me: It was a great job! I learned a ton, have some fabulous experience under my belt, my colleagues and supervisors were great, and I worked with some amazing kiddos! But, I have a new job!
You: A new job?! Where? What is it?
Me: I got a teaching job in Des Moines! I will be teaching elementary special education this fall!
You: Wow! That is great! And in Des Moines! You will be really close to your parents and Dan's parents!
Me: I know! That is one of the reasons I applied for the job! I will be home by 4:15 every day, have my evenings, weekends, holidays, and summers free. And we will be so close to both sets of parents so they can have lots of time with David!
You: So, when do you leave Madison?
Me: Well, it is happening sort of fast! We have to be out of our townhouse by July 31st. So, we are starting to get all packed up and will live with our parents until we can move into a house.
You: This is big stuff! So, are you sad to be leaving Madison?
Me: Yes and no. Yes because I think this move is going to be really good for our family and I am excited to be back home. No because it is bittersweet to leave job and I am leaving a fabulous group of music friends with the opera and theatre company I work with. Also, I am a bit sad to miss the Taste of Madison, the beer (but we will bring at least one case of Spotted Cow with us to Iowa!), and I will miss searching for cows every time Katrina and I get together. But, like I said, this move is going to be such a positive step for our family! And we are really excited!
You: That all sounds very exciting! Good luck with the move and the new job!
Me: Thanks! I will keep you posted on everything!

**Carey: Thanks for your tips regarding my last post! Turns out, the university does have an online library that has some resources! Great suggestion! You rock!

CONGRATS lady!!! I'm very very excited for you and your adorable family. As for cows, this will simply mean new and exciting destinations for us to explore and search!
