Baby Krumm
Dan and I went in for the first trimester screening today. The doctors measure fluid behind the baby's neck via ultrasound and then do some blood work to determine a risk for chromosome abnormalities. We won't get the blood work back for another week or so, but the fluid measurement was 1 mm (over 3 mm is cause of worry). The doctor said that her educated guess would be that our baby is not at risk for any abnormalities! Whew!On the plus side, we got to watch our little one kick its legs, wave its little arms and open and close its mouth! It is so amazing that this little person is wiggling all around in my belly and I don't feel a thing! We also found out that I have an anterior placenta, which means that my placenta is on the tummy side of my uterus instead of the backbone side. So, I probably won't feel movement as soon as some women do! But, it doesn't pose any risk to me or the baby and a lot of times anterior placenta move to the spine side before delivery anyway!
