Carmencita! Manuelita!

Tonight we staged the women's fight scene in Carmen (Madison Opera's current production). I went into rehearsal tonight thinking the fight was going to be very loosely staged - the director would give us a few things we could do to squabble and that would be the end of it. But, we had a fight choreographer who set up the entire scene. I, myself, put a girl in a headlock, get my hair pulled, get choked and then tackle my fight partner until we are pulled apart by soldiers. And our fight is pretty mild compared to some of the other fights! We were all sweating and grunting while trying to sing and I think it is going to look amazing on stage!
