A Free Weekend

Dan and I finally had a free weekend! Neither of us had any obligations, so we decided to make a spontaneous trip home. We only visited Dan's family, as we had just seen mine last weekend when they came to Madison for a visit! We had a relaxing Saturday afternoon out on his parent's boat and then spent the evening sitting on their deck with the firepit cracking while we drank some wine and caught up on everyone's lives! Sunday morning, we went to church and then to the fundraiser to support the water project for our sister parish in Hedaru, Tanzania! Would you believe that in a 3 hour event with raffle prizes and a silent auction, the chuch raised close to $10,000 towards the project?!?! How amazing! The people of the village of Hedaru will be so thrilled when Dan's mom arrives in Tanzania this week with a large check to help bring clean water to their village! It was a relaxing and inspirational weekend!
