A Friendly Sort of Weekend

Our weekend with friends has wrapped up and we had a really nice time! Here are some of the good (and bad) events of the past two days:

* (Bad) Ruby was terrified of Rufus (Ted and Elyse's dog), so she spent the weekend cowering on top of the bookshelf in our bedroom.
* Ruben and Rufus got along famously after a bit of sniffing each other out. They were very playful and Rufus even tried to teach Ruben how to take a walk on a leash. Unfortunately, this was unsuccessful.
* We had a delicious dinner and a very funny waiter at Biaggi's on Friday night.
* Yummy Saturday lunch at the Mediterranean Cafe on State Street
* We spent a fun (and sweaty) afternoon traipsing around the Henry Vilas Zoo. The highlights: penguins, an extremely long-haired orangutan, the show-off otter, prairie dogs, and the emu!
* (Bad) I discovered fraudulent activity on our debit card. We had to cancel the card and will have to dispute the fraudulent charges on the card later this week! :(
* Dan cooked his famous Gumbo for dinner!
* We all attended a fantastic early music concert. Well worth the $13 tickets!
* Some beers on the terrace, some beers at home, some margarita spilled on the couch, lots of fun!

Until next time...
