Dan and I set up the baby's room today! This was quite a task as we had to dismantle my "office." My "office" was sort of a catch-all space for things that didn't quite have any other home. Well, now everything that was in there has a home (4 garbage bags full of stuff have made a nice home in the dumpster!). We also went through what was left of my Mary Kay inventory and separated out stuff we will use and we have a nice size donation for a local women's shelter as well! We boxed up a bunch of other stuff that we hope to be able to use/display when we have a bigger house with more space! After a quick run of the vacuum, we put all of the baby items in place.
The glider, crib, and dresser/changing table are now settled in their proper place in the nursery. At first, I hated the way the space looked! (I cried for about 25 minutes over it!) But, where we have everything makes sense and makes good use of the room. I think I was expecting it to look perfect and finished, but it isn't yet! We definitely need to get decorations up on the wall! I can't wait to put the wall-hanging my mom is making over the crib and we need some pictures of some kind to hang above the glider and dresser/changing table. The space will look so much more baby friendly once there are books and toys on the shelf and blankets folded over the crib and glider. Now, I can't wait for our baby showers so that we can complete the room!
