Singing Again

I am finally singing again! I haven't performed or prepared a serious piece in almost a year and it has been a year too long! One of my husband's grad. school buddies is giving his final master's recital and he is performing a really cool chamber piece for two marimbas and soprano. The piece is three origional movements, plus soprano solo "O mio babino carro" with marimba accompaniment. The whole work is really cool, but the movement we are performing is very unique. The piece is titled "3.1432" and the only words I sing are the numbers in the title. Aside from the silly "lyrics" the rhythms and conversation between the marimbas and voice are really cool! I am really excited about the performance on Friday and I have loved sining every night at rehearsals. Singing makes me feel confident, comfortable, and strong. I had almost forgotten how good it is to use the talent God blessed me with and I am going to need to keep this up! Until next time...
